You all know my stance on IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) but in case you don't - I'm all for it! In fact, I believe that television via the internet through companies like Hulu and Netflix is not only way better for the consumer in every way, but it is also better for the content creators, curators and advertisers. If the networks and studios would get their terrified and pathetic big heads out of their asses for one moment and look around, they would jump aboard and suddenly everyone will win.
Until that happens, we just have to get excited for the small steps. This news is one such "small step" that could actually be pretty big. Here is the jist - All My Children and One Life to Live have been cancelled. However, they are going to continue daily episodes that will be posted online. This means that a whole new, less internet savvy demographic is going to be forced to go find their "stories" online and that opens up a lot of possibilities. It will grow the numbers required to force more content providers to make the switch. You can read more on the matter here.
