All the details are over at The Los Angeles Times, but the jist is that this controversial program very well might end soon and in the meantime, the ticketing won't be actively enforced. While I have never gotten a ticket from one of these, I know many people who have - when they were making a legal right turn on red. Worse, I have seen people slam on their brakes during a yellow light because they don't want to be in the intersection when the light turns red. This goes against Los Angeles driving style and is way more dangerous than just going on through - yet the stupid, big brother camera system encourages it. I for one am happy it's going away!
