The history of the fork is surprisingly interesting

From Gizmodo:

"People used to hate the fork. When first introduced in Italy, and then in France and England, it did not go over well. And we're not talking about the kind of eh, I'm-not-going-to-use-that-weird-thing kind of dislike; we're talking straight TOOL OF THE DEVIL abhorrence."

The fork didn't catch on until surprisingly recently, relatively speaking. It's hard to think of it being a technological development, but apparently it really was. Read the whole (brief) history here if such a lesson sounds intriguing to you. I'll tell you, I'm always amazed when an article like this comes along that makes me think about something I completely take for granted and have never once, for a single moment pondered.
