One could argue that we are in a golden age of television. I would be inclined to agree. After a 60 plus year history, television is really maturing. The scope of television shows in the last five to ten years has grown exponentially. I'm speaking both in terms of special effects and production value as well as (and most importantly) storytelling. This could be the subject of a very long book - and you know I can get wordy, so I'll spare you having to read what you already know - the important thing is that television creators are starting to really get the respect they are due.
For this first time, writers, creators and showrunners in television are becoming household names and this upcoming documentary seems to be looking to explore the little known world on the backend of medium that everyone all over the country (and world) spend a lot of time in front of.
