Farmers and local residents have been getting major cash incentives to compensate for their "spoilt" views. We're talking millions of dollars going both directly into the residents pockets and into the local governments which then pass onto programs such as the local school districts.
Maybe it's just me but I always thought that the giant windmills are really cool looking. Every since I was a kid, it was the highlight of driving down the 5 to and from LA. Okay, that's not difficult to pull off, the 5 sucks, but still!
